Charlie Auclair was first touched by the wine bug when he took a trip to Napa in 1988. He moved to Washington State in 1992 and settled down in western Washington a few hours from one of the best grape growing and wine making regions of the world.

The first wine was a 2000 Merlot that was shared with a few friends who all praised the effort. After a few years and a few more trials, the Auclair winery was born in 2008.

Lisa Callan launched her professional winemaking career by diving headfirst into the highly acclaimed WSU enology program in 2010. From there she embarked on whirlwind journey working as a production intern at a prestigious Woodinville winery that taught her the hands-on skills of critical winemaking with a focus on structured, well balanced wine. From there she honed her talents as an assistant winemaker at another Woodinville establishment before striking out on her own under the Callan Cellars label.

Callan Cellars is proud to showcase wines made from grapes sourced from some of Washington’s preeminent vineyards located in the Columbia Valley, Red Mountain, Walla Walla, and most recently, Lake Chelan AVAs, where Lisa and her husband Mike have recently opened up their second tasting room.

Our winemaking goal is to produce wines that highlight Washington state’s fruit. We are not trying to imitate wines from other regions, but instead, look for grape varieties from Washington vineyards that result in wines which could not be made anywhere else. Washington wines are naturally fruit-forward, higher in acidity, and food-friendly.

Founded in 2013, Three of Cups is located in the Artisan Hill area of Woodinville, Washington. It was our passion for wine and food that started the conversation about creating our own winery years ago and Three of Cups was established to share that passion beyond our friends and family. The tarot card, Three of Cups, symbolizes conviviality, abundance, joy and friendship – all things that happen naturally with wine. Our varietals come from well-established vineyards throughout Washington and Oregon including Red Mountain, Walla Walla Valley, and the Rocks. We strive to produce wines that express the very best of these regions and leave you with a taste, excitement and a memory for years to come.
